ELIZA-
BETH PARK
This kitchen is part of a whole house remodel taking almost two years, and encompassing the laundry, kitchen, dining room, living room, children's bath, and master bath. The house was an older one, but non-descript, and the homeowner wanted to add character.
First, an overall flow of the home was established, adding one entrance, changing locations of others, and taking off a poorly constructed addition. An arch motif was decided on, and work on one room at a time began.
In the kitchen a built-in dining nook and buffet with tiled backsplash add old house charm while providing dining and entertaining space. The arched pass-thru and doorway open the space to the dining room while keeping that bit of separation characteristic of vintage homes. A large island adds needed prep space for the family, who cook almost entirely from scratch.
