South Hill Spa Bath
The bachelor in this South Hill residence wanted to update his bath and create a space to relax on a cold damp day. After showing him options with either an infrared sauna or free-standing tub, he chose the sauna.
A custom locally built solid walnut vanity creates a luxury spa-type setting. Sedimentary-like floor tile and pebble tile in the shower bring in more natural elements. In the existing bath, clothing was hung exposed to the open space. A new walnut built-in style closet is reminiscent of lockers and keeps items enclosed and organized. To prevent door swing issues, a sliding barn door was used to separate the bedroom from bath.

If in the future a new owner would like a bigger, more separate closet, the space was designed so that a wall and door could be added between the bath and sauna/locker-style closet area. The sauna could be removed and closet rods and shelves could be added in its place.
